Neighborhood Spotlight: Tuco and Blondie

In these unprecedented times, comfort is a commodity.

In these unprecedented times, comfort is a commodity. Just because you are working from home and your “co-worker” sheds and lays on your keyboard does not mean you have to go without the necessities like tacos. Restaurants are struggling to stay afloat, but many have learned to adapt. Tuco and Blondie, one of Yagla Engineering’s featured restaurants, is part of the 4 Star Restaurant Group, and is still open for business.

Tuco and Blondie is a “Mexican-style, fajita-eatin’, margarita-drinkin’, good time in the heart of Southport”. They’re serving up hot, fresh food daily like handmade guacamole, chile con queso, and one of their signature dishes, The Blondie Salad which is perfect after your second breakfast of cookie dough ice cream. This salad has everything… grilled fajita chicken, fresh cojita and cheddar cheeses, avocado, a creamy chipotle ranch dressing, and other yummy goodness.

Tuco and Blondie has something for the little ones too. Homeschooling is difficult on everybody but ordering nachos and mini tacos is super easy and gives everyone something to look forward to. They have an entree for every kid’s palate and at $6 (includes a side and drink), you won’t break the bank.

Currently, Tuco and Blondie’s menu is a pared down version of their full menu. While unfortunate, it’s to your benefit because you can be sure you are getting the freshest meal made-to-order just for you. They offer curbside pick-up and no-contact delivery.

Just because we’re under quarantine doesn’t mean you have to resort to tube turkey and canned cheese. In fact, experts say the best way to stay safe and sane is to wash your hands, stick to a routine, stay home, and eat lots of tacos.
