Neighborhood Spotlight: Smoke Daddy BBQ

Barbecue is a universal food.

Barbecue is a universal food. You’ll find barbecue and it’s different variations in every corner of the world. Chicago is lucky enough to have the best barbecue restaurant in two of its most popular and historic neighborhoods. Smoke Daddy BBQ has two delicious spots for grub: Wrigleyville and Wicker Park.

Wrigleyville

What’s better than an Old Style, a ball game, and Smoke Daddy BBQ? Not a whole lot, except a Cubs World Series win maybe. Wrigleyville, a neighborhood of Lake View, has Wrigley Field, the 2nd oldest ballpark in America and home of the Chicago Cubs. Known for the ivy-covered brick outfield wall and that dang billy-goat, Wrigley Field is a nostalgic call-back to the good ol’ days of hand cranked scoreboards and the famous 7th inning stretch.

Wicker Park

Down for some amazing barbecue but not really into baseball? Smoke Daddy BBQ has a location in eclectic Wicker Park. Art and entertainment are the mainstay of this Chicago neighborhood. Did you know that MTV’s Real World: Chicago was filmed here? Foodies, artists, entertainers, musicians, and influencers call Wicker Park home. The heart of Wicker Park is the Six Corners area where North, Milwaukee, and Damen Avenues meet. Here you’ll find places to buy vintage records, books, clothing, and other unique and trendy gifts.

Space Architect + Planners, the architectural partners of YES, and other parties created a space complementary to the down-to-earth aesthetic of Smoke Daddy BBQ origins. Warm brown tones, reclaimed wood and distressed steel create a comfortable atmosphere with no pretense. YES designed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to expand on the ideal of comfort and cool at Smoke Daddy BBQ.

While you’re washing down those robust ribs with an ice cold beer, you can listen to blues offered every night at both locations. No matter your tastes, you’re sure to love Smoke Daddy BBQ in Wicker Park or Wrigleyville.
